A Midnight Forest for Meadowood

Tall trees on a property provide the perfect opportunity to create a “moonlit midnight forest.” Using a collection of downlights, uplights and pathway lighting, our team designed and delivered an exterior lighting plan for an evening backyard retreat to complement this beautiful and contemporary Meadowood property.

DDLA and Marlin Landscape called upon Signature Illumination Designs to illuminate the terraced walking areas and fire pit as well as add depth and texture to the pool area, the green spaces and the gardens. Preserving the natural environment is one of our top priorities during an install. Our team of installers uses ropes and saddles in favor of foot spikes to scale mature trees. This technique ensures no harm to the trunk, bark and root systems when we place lighting on high branches to create a moonlight effect as shown here.

Additionally, we added pathway lighting and recessed uplighting that invite residents and guests to use the walkways, terraced paved areas and gardens safely. The recessed lighting also creates texture and highlights the low trees and bushes within the garden areas that frame the pool, paver steps and lawns.

Outdoor lighting increases the usable time for any property. If you’re away from home during daylight hours most of the week, then exterior lighting provides you the perfect opportunity to enjoy your outdoor areas even when the sun has set. Exterior lighting is an important feature for properties that are lush with trees, bushes and gardens, as it provides an added layer of visibility and security. We like to say that our lighting plans let you increase the “enjoyment ROI” of your outdoor spaces.

We’re proud to report that the owner of this property gave it two thumbs-up and a two-word review: LOVE IT!
